NFD THE LOWDOWN_PART 1

Product knowledge is always key when promoting a product, it gives you background insight and confidence to approach potential consumers. You get to know what your product is about and how consumers can best use it.

I am always amazed when "football lovers" ask me, what is this NFD you always tweeting about?

So for the benefit of those football fans and those just browsing through this blog, I decided to get some information to spread the beautiful word of the NFD.

The National First Division (NFD) is the second highest club football (soccer) league in South Africa, after the Premier Soccer League (PSL). So the league can be seen as the stepping stone to the elite league, both these leagues are organised by the National Soccer League.

It all started in 1996 when the PSL was established, the organisers then decided to replace the former OK League with the NFD. United Bank was the league's first sponsor in the year of 1997 and 1998. The bank was then followed by cellphone company MTN for a period between 1998-2001. With MTN withdrawing it's sponsorship in 2001, the league had to operate without a sponsor until May 2004. The Mvelaphanda Group then came to the league's rescue, sponsoring for a period between 2004-07.

To my amazement the league has been without a sponsor since 2007, this however has not stopped supporters showing their love for the beautiful football, that is on display in this league.

If you have any doubts about this product, just ask, i will direct you to a beautiful experience waiting for you.

Wednesday 3 September 2014

Santos takes Maluti to school.

It was a NFD match filled with various lessons as Santos FC out smarted Maluti FET College in a thrilling 3-2 victory.
Whether you found yourself on Klipfontein Road, Jan Smut Drive or the N2 all roads lead to Athlone Stadium. This time for Friday Night NFD Action as The Peoples team, Santos hosted visitors Maluti.

The action however had to be delayed by 45min, as the visitors from the Free State arrived late due to travelling problems. This allowed supporters enough time to prepare for a chilly evening filled with entertainment.

The game got off to a slow start as both teams did not want to make any mistakes after their opening match day defeats. Maluti however could not help but to concede a penalty after early pressure from the home team. Up stepped Suhayl Allie who calmly converted from the penalty spot giving Santos a 1-0 lead with 10min played.

The game then sprung to life as Maluti started applying pressure and after 20min it was game on. The pressure lead to some indecision in the Santos defence, resulting in the scores being levelled when Bulelani Nikani scored for Maluti. The crowd were loving the attacking football on display but 1-1 is how the half ended.

The second was not shy of any action as by the 65th min Santos was leading 3-1. Any thoughts of game set and match was dashed as Maluti came back fighting. It however wasn’t to be for the team from Free State as the game ended 3-2 resulting in two loses in two games.
