They say ‘the best things in life are free’. So why not make your way down to a stadium near you, for some entertaining Cape NFD action at no cost.
Derby fever hits the City of Cape Town, as the NFD prepares for a Mother of Derby weekends. The action kicks off in Athlone, where the Capes oldest NFD team Santos host NFD rookies Cape Town All Stars.
There will be no neighbourly love, as both teams head into the match on the back of disappointing defeats, gunning for the derby honours.
Santos is currently in 9th position on the log, having scored 10 goals. Defensively however is where The Peoples Team will be looking to improve, having conceded 11 goals. All Stars are in 11th position, 3 points behind Santos. For Stars it’s in front of goal where they need to improve their shine, having only scored 5 goals.
Saturday sees the action moving to Parow Park, where Vasco Da Gama hosts FC Cape Town in the official Parow Derby. The two Cape sides are currently tied on 14 points each, one behind log leaders Arrows.
The match will mark the 6th meeting of the Parow based teams. Goals can always be expected as fixture has never produced a draw. The Stats sees both teams squared with 3 wins, with the home team on the day normally walking away with the win.
