Cape Town All Stars 1-1 FC Cape Town
21 November 2014 - Athlone Stadium - By Stevlin M
Coach Boebie Solomons was left haplessly looking to the stars, as his charges lacked composure in the final third to secure their first home victory.
The seventh Cape Derby of the season started off at blistering pace, with the visiting Beasts outmuscling their hosts in the opening exchanges.
Stars however were shining the brightest on the fortieth minutes as Zaphaniah Mbokoma gave the host the lead against his former side. The host took a 1-0 lead into the break as the Beasts were left licking their wounds.
Stars started the second half the brightest, but with two quick substitutions it was Sibusiso Masina who found the back of the net for the Beasts, with nine minutes into the second half.
The game soon opened up with both teams searching for the winner, Stars with the more clear cut chances but failing to shine in front of goal. The Beasts also had their chances but was denied by Stars keeper Kyle Peters.
1-1 is how it ended with the two Cape sides adding to their draw masters reputation. The result sees FC Cape Town record their eighth draw in eleven matches, with Stars not far off with seven draws.
