James Mofokeng repaid the faith shown by CT All Stars Management as the central defender's first goal in Igugu Lekapa colours not only secured victory but also made sure Stars remain top of the NFD standings after three matches played.
Mofokeng was the only goal-scorer on Friday at Athlone as Stars edged out African Warriors 1-0, the central defender netting with a well-placed header following a cross by Thabo Makgothi.
Mofokeng, who has been on the books of Platinum Stars, Chippa United and Ajax CT to name a few clubs, is relishing the opportunity of regular game time after the great potential shown in his youth career.
CapeTownAllStarsfc.co.za caught up with James after scoring his first goal for Igugu Lekapa.
"It feels good as it's my first goal for Cape Town All Stars. We have been practicing set pieces and crosses into the box, so it's good that it paid off," he explained.
"Life at All Stars is good as I am being given a chance to play, at my previous clubs I wasn't afforded the opportunity, I am thankful to Stars," he concluded.
